DIY Earrings by Kakalina: Basic Tutorial

From trash to treasure. Recycle your broken jewelry and create a stylish pair of earrings in five minutes or less. Look good without breaking the bank by following these simple steps. (Jewelry supplies like headpins, earwires, wire cutter and round nose pliers, such as those shown in the picture, can be bought from any craft store)
1. Assemble your materials neatly. I recommend that you use a jewelry mat to prevent beads from rolling. You don't want to spend more time picking up loose beads.
2. There is no limit to your creativity. Once you have decided which loose beads to use, insert each one into the headpin. I used 1- inch swirl Murano glass and tiny gold beads for this project.
3. Using round nose pliers, bend the edge of the headpin to create a loop.
4. Add pizzas by attaching chains. Open the chain using round nose pliers. Look for the break and clip in between. Attach one chain into the loop of the headpin. Close the chain by using round nose pliers.
5. Add earwire. Open the chain using the same technique above. Attach the end of the chain into the loop of the earwire. Close the chain.
Enjoy your new handmade creation! Please see pictures below for reference.
